Our Journey
I never thought skin cancer would hit so close to home, until it did.
My dad, Tom, was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on his ear. He's always been an outdoorsman, someone who spends countless hours outside. Watching him go through that diagnosis was a wake-up call, and it pushed me to start digging into the research.
What I discovered shocked me, the tops of the ears are the third most common place men over 55 develop skin cancer, yet they're one of the most overlooked areas when it comes to sun protection. Even people who are careful about sunscreen often forget this vulnerable spot.
That realization stuck with me. Baseball caps are a staple in our family, but while they protect your face, they leave your ears completely exposed. I knew there had to be a simple, better solution. One that didn't require you to change your routine or remember to reapply sunscreen to hard-to-reach areas.
That's why my dad and I created E.A.R.S. Sun Gear (Ear Armor Repels Sun). It's a lightweight, clip-on design that attaches seamlessly to the sides of a baseball hat to protect one of the most vulnerable and forgotten areas, your ears.
Whether you're working outdoors, golfing, running, or just enjoying time in the sun, E.A.R.S. Sun Gear is a small addition that can make a big difference.
This product was born from personal experience, built with purpose, and designed to help others stay protected without changing the way they already wear their hats.
